Contributing towards a new skilling and employment agenda for Uganda
National Skilling and Employment Summit · 5 and 6 May 2026 · Ministry of Public Service
Hybrid Summit · Kololo Independence Grounds, Kampala + live online
Access & bursary-style support
The Summit is designed at real scale: 15,000+ in person and 8,500+ on the live online stream, so you can find a way in that fits you. If you are a young person, or a skilling centre, TVET, or training provider supporting learners who need a hand with transport or access, we want to work with you.
Who this is for
The Summit is for everyone the 2026 concept calls in, including young people far from Kampala and institutions bringing groups. This page summarises the access and bursary-style principles from the concept; exact offers will be confirmed with registration. See also who is invited and the hybrid programme design.
What we mean by “support”
Depending on the final budget and partner commitments, support may include help with transport from your district, group travel organised with youth structures or with institutional delegations (universities, TVET, Presidential Skilling Centres, training academies), or meals and information for the side activities around Kololo. If you are far from Kampala, the live online programme (8,500+ expected) is a full part of the Summit, not a second-class option. The exact offer will be published with registration. The principle in the 2026 CDF concept is: youth and institutional access at scale, aligned with a hybrid event.
Priority is likely to go to young people who are already active in their communities, in TVET, or in early-stage businesses, and to people who would otherwise be left out: young women, persons with disabilities, and rural young people, in line with national policy goals.
How to apply
When the registration window opens, you will be able to say whether you need support and in what form. In the meantime, register your interest and subscribe for updates so you are first to hear. Community organisations, youth councils, and faith-based groups are welcome to contact the secretariat about group access.
