Contributing towards a new skilling and employment agenda for Uganda

National Skilling and Employment Summit · 5 and 6 May 2026 · Ministry of Public Service

Hybrid Summit · Kololo Independence Grounds, Kampala + live online

Universities, colleges & skilling providers

You help shape what young people can do on day one of a job or a business. The Summit is the moment to show demand-driven, relevant training, and to lock arms with government and industry so certificates mean something in the market.

Who is in the room

The 2026 concept highlights public and private universities, with Makerere University and the new Busoga University called out by name, alongside TVET institutions across the country. Your students and trainees are a huge part of the future workforce: this Summit is about making the bridge from your classrooms and workshops to decent work and real enterprise shorter and sturdier.

What you can bring

  • Evidence on completion rates, placement, and the skills gaps you see every year.
  • Models that work: dual training, industry attachments, digital delivery, and inclusion for young women, rural students, and people with disabilities.
  • Proposals for joint programmes with employers and development partners, aligned to national policy.
  • Young people ready for poster sessions, “rapid fire” research slots, and creative showcases.

Connect
