Contributing towards a new skilling and employment agenda for Uganda
National Skilling and Employment Summit · 5 and 6 May 2026 · Ministry of Public Service
Hybrid Summit · Kololo Independence Grounds, Kampala + live online
Foundations, donors & multilateral partners
The final 2026 concept (CDF) is built for partners who want results they can see: a hybrid Summit with 15,000+ at Kololo and 8,500+ on the live online programme: one national programme of commitments, with post-Summit follow-up, not a one-off event that disappears from the calendar.
How the Summit has been set up to collaborate
Planning has involved the UN Resident Coordinator and FAO Uganda, with guidance on engaging key embassies (United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands) and a wide network of development organisations. The concept note (CDF print) also references partners such as Mastercard Foundation, ILO, IOM, aBi, Enabel, GOAL Uganda, Heifer, GIZ, World Vision, WFP, and others who work daily on skills, safety nets, and economic inclusion, alongside the EU and multilateral family. The hybrid design (15,000+ on site, 8,500+ online) is part of maximising inclusion and transparency for those investments.
That is not a closed list. If your mandate touches youth, work, or learning, we want a conversation on how the Summit and its post-event dialogues can help you go further, together, especially if you are ready to co-fund with government and the Presidential skilling, university, and TVET pipeline the concept expects in the room.
What we ask of partners
- Co-design sessions and side events with young people and government, not for them only.
- Commitments that can be named: funding, technical assistance, or policy support, with timelines that can be tracked after May 2026.
- Alignment with national priorities in NDP, Vision 2040, and the Human Capital Development programme, so your investment reinforces Uganda’s own plans.
- Openness to new pathways for NEET young people, women, and groups that programmes often miss, without compromising safeguards and quality.
